Celebrity Makeup Artist & Hairstylist

“Every Day is a New Adventure”

It was beautiful Tuesday afternoon, when I received a call about doing a makeup and hair for a Celebrity. My first thought was like “What? Are you serious?” I mean, I am a Makeup Artist in Corona, kind of far from Hollywood, and obviously I advertise my business locally. But at the same time, I was like “sure, why not?”. After I agreed they provided me with all the details and names of people who I would be working with.

I was really excited to find out that I will be working with Charisse Mills and AzMarie Livingston. I am really happy that my first experience on a serious project with important people started with these two gorgeous women.

Charisse Mills is a Trinidadian pop opera singer and songwriter. She is best known for her collaborations with artists Ne-Yo and French Montana, and for her vocal combinations of pop and opera, termed "pop'era".

Ashley Marie "AzMarie" Livingston is an American fashion model, actress, singer and DJ who rose to fame after appearing on America's Next Top Model: British Invasion in 2012.

I was kind of worried on the way to the set. After reading some stories and watching some videos about working with celebs in general. Also, I didn’t really know what they would ask me to do. I do feel like this with every of my clients, because I want EVERYTHING to be on point, only this time it was special. But tbh it was such an amazing experience! Everything went well! Charisse and AzMarie were really nice, letting my team picture the whole process and they were fine with taking thousands of pictures afterwards.

First, I started doing hair for Charisse Mills. She was really cool, talking with everyone, singing and listening to some music, while I was doing Beach Waves style for her.

I was using Unite Hair Products to prep: 7 Seconds Leave-in Detangler, Smooth and Shine, Expanda Dust: and finish the style: Beach Day, Liquid Volume, Texturiza Spray.

It was really easy working with Charisse's hair. It was washed and straight all I had to do just prep the hair before the style!

Thank to Olivia Garden Hair tools & Unite Hair products, for making my life easier!

After that I started with makeup for AzMarie. She asked for Smokey Eye (which is my favorite look btw!). I was like “Giiiiirl! I got you!”. She's just let me do my thing while chatting with her fans.

I used: GlamGlow (Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer Glam to Go Nude Glow) $20

it's really nice moisturizer, gives that luminous skin finish.

Benefit POREfessional face primer $32

MakeUpForEver Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation $43

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer $29

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade $18

TooFaced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette $49

TooFaced Cocoa Contour $42

Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder $39

Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trio $30

ElcieCosmetics Lashfull Mascara $24

Ardell Lashes $9

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray $32

Marc Jacobs LipGloss $28

The brushes I used were RealTechniques, Glo Skin Beauty, Morphe, BH cosmetics. I knew that I was gonna do 2 makeup application on different people, so I had to bring 2 sets of basic brushes. If you are a makeup artist, you know its never enough! Obviously, I brought 3rd, just in case I would need them, and guess what I needed them all and used every brush I brought, there were probably 29.

By the way you can check out here how to clean makeup brushes.

Then I started doing light natural makeup for Charisse.

I used the same products I listed above, just a different shades and technique.

The look Charisse asked for was really simple and easy! This matte natural makeup I do like 4 or 5 times a week.

Beautiful, soft natural makeup.

And then AzMarie wanted straight, sleek hair. All I had to do, just straightening it.

The whole thing took a while. As a hairstylist or makeup artist you have to be there till the end, they might need you for touch ups or something else. I really loved the way everything turned out in the end. This last pic is when they were shooting outside, it was freezing! There were so many people at Universal Studios on Thursday one the them was Patrick Star.

It was fun experience, and if you ask if I would do it again, my answer will be "ABSOLUTELY!"
